When we look at the results of the most traditional and oldest marathons worldwide in 2014 it is obvious that Košice has ranked at the second position just behind the Fukuoka Marathon. The ranking was done within the group of marathons which are at least 65 years old and still active.

Ranking continues with Kochi (JPN, 1946), Johannesburg (RSA, 1946) and Yonkers (USA 1907 with interruption from 1918 until 1934).
